I would uninstall every thing, go to program files and delete and folders it left over (i know it leaves some), download and run RegCleaner(go to Tools, Registry cleanup,Do them all, once done select all and press remove selected, (this will take out any registry intres that BF installed and any other program that is no longer installed))*note: this program will not remove any file or intre that is not safe to remove, i have used this program for 3 years now on every comptue that come into the shop and not one has screwed up because of it, it has on the other hand fixed problems*, Restart PC, Install BF1942 only, restart PC, try to run before applying any patches, if works install 1.4 full patch, restart PC, try to run BF, if works install RR, restart PC, try to run, if works install latest DC (0.38), restart PC and run DC.
